Acts 3-4

You can read Acts 3-4 here.

Reflect on the passage: What is your first response (internal or external) when you see someone begging?

How do you think communities of faith should or could respond to people in need? (Being “in need” can be and look a lot of different ways. The passage is referring to physical need, but also addresses spiritual, emotional, social needs as well.)

Do you believe that Jesus (and maybe by extension, the church?) still has the power to change our lives? Why or why not?

The end of Chapter 4, verses 32-36, again talk about the community of believers. Similar to Acts 2:42-47, they shared everything and no one was in need. What does this or could this look like today?

Prayer: Jesus, you came to refresh and restore us. By your name, by the power of your Spirit, you set us free. When we are invisible to those in power, you see us. When we are blind to those in need, you call us out. Give us hearts to receive you and eyes to see your children, that we might live in your kingdom where everyone is welcome, no one is in need, and your grace is evident to all. In your name, Amen.
